Face Up with 360Learning: LTI 1.3 or SCORM

360Learning can run Face Up in two ways: as an LTI tool in an External content activity, or as a course imported in SCORM format. Here is how to choose, and what each method tracks.

In short

Yes, Face Up works with 360Learning, through LTI 1.3 or SCORM. With LTI, the group admin connects Face Up once under Integrations › LTI tools, then authors add the simulation as an External content activity: learners launch it from their course with no new login. With SCORM, you import the Face Up module as an eLearning standard course, and 360Learning tracks completion and score.

How it works

The group admin, once

With LTI, the Group admin connects Face Up in the group settings (Settings › Integrations › LTI tools), exchanging connection details with the Face Up team. The tool becomes active for the group and its subgroups. Face Up does not use NRPS: it does not pull your enrolment lists. With SCORM, no connection is needed.

The course author

With LTI, the author adds an activity, picks Face Up in the External content section and pastes the scenario’s Content URL provided by Face Up. 360Learning’s documentation does not describe picking a scenario from a catalogue (Deep Linking), so plan one activity and one URL per scenario. With SCORM, the author imports the scenario’s .zip, which becomes a course in its own right, ready to place in a Path.

The learner

They open the activity or the course, and the simulation starts. With LTI, it opens in an iframe, in the same tab or in a new tab, depending on the tool setting. They hold the conversation, get their debrief and can try again. The browser asks for microphone access the first time.

Setup, step by step

With LTI 1.3

  1. Get Face Up’s details. Face Up sends you its connection details: Login URL, launch redirect URLs and keyset URL (or public key).
  2. Add the tool to the group. Hover over your group in the left sidebar, then open Settings › Integrations › LTI tools › Add LTI tool. Enter Face Up’s details and click Save and continue.
  3. Send 360Learning’s details back. 360Learning then displays its own connection details: copy them and send them to the Face Up team, who enter them on their side.
  4. Activate the tool. Click Mark setup complete: the tool switches to Active and becomes available in the group and its subgroups.
  5. Add the simulation to a course. In Courses, open the course with Edit, click Add activity, choose Face Up in the External content section, paste the scenario’s Content URL, then click Add content.
  6. Test before requiring completion. With a learner account, check the launch, the microphone and completion. Then, if needed, turn on ‘Require completion to continue’ for the activity.

With SCORM

  1. Get the module. Download the scenario’s SCORM module from Face Up (a .zip file), in version 1.2 or 2004.
  2. Create the course. In 360Learning, open Create › Course › eLearning standard, click CHOOSE SOURCE FILE and select the .zip.
  3. Confirm the import. Click Confirm. The import can take up to an hour; the course holds this single file.
  4. Place the course in a Path. Add the course to the relevant Path, alongside your other content.
  5. Check tracking. Complete the simulation with a test account: the score only shows once the course is completed.

What comes back into your LMS

What comes back into 360Learning depends on the method. Either way, the detailed debrief stays in Face Up.

  • With SCORM: 360Learning tracks completion, progress, score (shown once the course is completed) and time spent.
  • With LTI 1.3: 360Learning reads the activity’s completion when the tool reports it, and can use it to lock the rest of the course (‘Require completion to continue’). Its documentation does not describe score return over LTI.
  • In Face Up: the debrief for each session (objectives met or not, strengths, points to improve) stays in Face Up.
  • Need the score in 360Learning? Use SCORM for that course: it is the method with documented score tracking.

Good to know

  • LTI in 360Learning courses arrived with release v142 (31 August 2026), and the ‘Require completion to continue’ option with v144 (19 October 2026). Only turn that option on once you have seen completion come through on your pilot course, or learners will be blocked.
  • Microphone: 360Learning’s documentation does not cover microphone access in the LTI iframe. Test it and, if it is blocked, set the tool to open in a new tab. On mobile, LTI activities are not supported yet: learners are asked to complete them on a computer.
  • For admins: a group can hold up to 10 LTI tools, and connection details cannot be edited after activation. An LTI activity cannot be copied to another course and is the same in every language version of the course.
  • With SCORM, each module becomes a course that cannot be copied. Import the .zip as delivered, with no intermediate folder, and import it again if the scenario changes.
  • Start with one pilot course, one scenario and one group. Check the launch, tracking in 360Learning and the microphone, then scale up.

Frequently asked questions

Is Face Up compatible with 360Learning?

Yes. Face Up works with 360Learning through LTI 1.3, as an external tool connected to a group, or through SCORM, as an imported course. With either method, learners launch the simulation from 360Learning.

LTI or SCORM with 360Learning: which should I choose?

Choose SCORM if you want to track the score in 360Learning: the import is mature, and score and completion tracking are documented. Choose LTI 1.3 if you want to add the simulation as an activity in your existing courses, with a launch that needs no new login; 360Learning then tracks completion. Our comparison SCORM, LTI or xAPI explains both approaches.

Does the Face Up score come back into 360Learning?

With SCORM, yes: 360Learning records each learner’s score and shows it once the course is completed, along with completion. For LTI, 360Learning’s documentation only mentions completion. Either way, the detailed debrief stays in Face Up.

How long does setup take, and who does it?

Allow 48 hours after the scoping call. The Face Up team configures the LTI tool with your 360Learning group admin, or delivers SCORM modules ready to import. Authors then add the simulations to their courses. To get started, book a demo.

Is the integration included in my Face Up plan?

Yes. SCORM and LTI are included in every Face Up plan. SSO, CRM and HRIS connections and the API are part of the Enterprise plan. Data is hosted in Paris, in line with GDPR.
