Face Up with Docebo: LTI 1.3 or SCORM

In Docebo, each Face Up simulation becomes a training material, via LTI 1.3 or SCORM. Learners practise from their course, and Docebo records completion.

In short

Yes. In Docebo, each Face Up scenario is added as a training material, via LTI 1.3 or SCORM (1.2 or 2004 3rd Edition). Docebo does not support Deep Linking: with LTI, you create one material per scenario, which Docebo can mark as complete as soon as it receives Face Up's score.

How it works

The administrator creates one material per scenario

Docebo supports basic LTI 1.3, without Deep Linking. Each Face Up scenario therefore becomes its own LTI training material, with that scenario's launch URL. Created once on the Training materials page, the material can then be assigned to several courses. Our LMS integration guide explains how LTI works.

Training managers place it in their courses

In an e-learning course, the material is added from Content and delivery › Courses, in the course's Training material tab, with Add training material › LTI. ILT courses go through the Training materials page. Name each material after the situation practised, for example “Announcing a delay to a customer in a hurry”, so trainers find the right one.

Learners practise from the course

They open the material and Face Up launches in the chosen View mode (Inline, Theater mode, Stand-alone mode or New window), with no new login. Since 23 March 2026, Docebo supports the microphone in all these modes; the learner sees a permission request the first time. They hold the conversation, then read their debrief in Face Up.

Setup, step by step

With LTI 1.3

  1. Create the material in the library. On the Training materials page, click New, then LTI, and choose LTI 1.3 under Configuration.
  2. Fill in the LTI 1.3 fields. Under Version information, enter the scenario's Tool URL (HTTPS), the Public keyset URL, the Initiate login URL and the Redirection URI provided by Face Up.
  3. Send the Platform fields. In the Content tab, copy the read-only Platform fields and send them to the Face Up team, who complete the pairing.
  4. Set display and microphone. In the material settings, choose the View mode, enable the microphone under LTI content capabilities and set Privacy (sharing the learner's name and e-mail) in line with your internal policy.
  5. Define completion. Under Completion, choose to complete the material after a score from the external tool is received, with a minimum passing score, or as soon as it is opened.
  6. Assign to courses, then test. Add the material to your courses from Assigned courses, then launch it with a real learner account. Create a material the same way for each scenario.

With SCORM

  1. Download the package. Export the simulation's SCORM package (.zip) from Face Up. Docebo reads SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 3rd Edition: if in doubt, choose 1.2.
  2. Add the package to the course. In the Training material tab, click Add training material › SCORM › Upload file. For several courses, upload it once on the Training materials page and assign it.
  3. Choose the View mode. If the package displays poorly in Inline or Theater mode, switch it to New window: Docebo notes that these two modes can break content with nested iframes.
  4. Test with a learner account. Play a full session, close the package, then check completion and score in Docebo. Cookies, third-party cookies included, must be allowed in the browser.

What comes back into your LMS

Docebo records the completion of each material and the score received; the learning detail stays in Face Up.

  • Completion with LTI 1.3: when the material is opened, or after a score from Face Up is received, with the minimum passing score you set.
  • Score with LTI 1.3: Face Up sends a score out of 100. Docebo accepts any score above zero as received, with no rescaling: check how it displays during the pilot.
  • With SCORM: Docebo records completion and score; the course score can take the last test, the sum or the average of tests.
  • The debrief stays in Face Up: objectives met or not, strengths and points to improve, to read after each session.

Good to know

  • No Deep Linking: each scenario is a separate material with its own launch URL. Do not rely on custom launch parameters to identify the scenario: in June 2024, Docebo staff said they were not yet supported.
  • Microphone: enable the microphone under LTI content capabilities, otherwise the permission request does not appear. The launch URL must use HTTPS.
  • Course types: LTI material can be added directly to e-learning courses only; for an ILT course, go through the Training materials page. In a multi-domain setup, plan one material per domain.
  • Go.Learn app: it plays LTI 1.1 and 1.3 material, but not offline. For SCORM, it only lists versions 1.2 and 2004 3rd Edition.
  • Start with a pilot: one course, one scenario, one group. Check the launch, the microphone, completion and the score shown, then create the materials for the next scenarios.

Frequently asked questions

Is Face Up compatible with Docebo?

Yes. Docebo accepts LTI 1.3 content as training material, as well as SCORM 1.2 and 2004 3rd Edition packages: Face Up works with both. The point to know is the lack of Deep Linking, which means one material per scenario with LTI.

LTI 1.3 or SCORM: which should I use with Docebo?

Both make sense. LTI 1.3 keeps the scenario hosted by Face Up, so it stays up to date without re-import, supports the microphone in every view mode and can trigger completion when the score arrives. SCORM is fastest for a few courses, but each scenario change needs a new upload. The full comparison is in SCORM, LTI or xAPI.

Does the score come back into Docebo?

Yes, with one check to plan. With LTI 1.3, Face Up sends a score out of 100 and Docebo can mark the material as complete when it arrives; since Docebo takes the score as received, with no rescaling, check how it displays during the pilot. With SCORM, Docebo records completion and score. The detailed debrief stays in Face Up.

How long does setup take, and who does it?

Allow 48 hours after the scoping call. The Face Up team configures the LTI materials with your Docebo administrator, or delivers SCORM packages ready to import. Each new scenario then needs one more material.

Is the Docebo integration included in my plan?

Yes. SCORM and LTI are included in every Face Up plan. SSO, CRM and HRIS connections and the API are part of the Enterprise plan. Data is hosted in Paris (GDPR).
