AI persona
Definition
An AI persona is the character the learner meets in a simulation: it has an identity, a personality, goals and objections, and the AI makes it speak and react consistently. It is what makes the conversation believable.
Also called
AI character, AI counterpart, AI customer
What defines a persona
Its role (customer, buyer, team member, candidate, patient), its context, its communication style, what it wants, what annoys it and what can convince it. Many trainers use a model such as DISC to describe its style.
A persona that reacts
A good persona does not recite a script: it gets more tense if ignored, relaxes when it is paraphrased well, and comes back to an objection that was not handled. It stays true to the facts of the scenario from start to finish.
With Face Up
The SAM authoring tool builds the persona from the trainer’s description and documents; everything stays editable. The persona can be a voice, an avatar or both.
