Simulation scenario

Definition

A simulation scenario describes the situation to be played: the context, the persona, the learner’s goal, the expected flow and the criteria used to assess them. It is the learning building block of a conversational simulation.

Also called

role-play scenario, learning scenario

What a good scenario contains

A clear scene (where, when, why), a believable persona, a measurable goal for the learner (“secure a dated meeting”, “hold the price without a flat discount”) and a debrief rubric aligned with that goal.

Start from real life

The best scenarios come from the field: anonymised calls, customer verbatims, cases managers have lived. They resonate with learners straight away.

With Face Up

With SAM, the trainer describes the situation and adds documents: persona, scene, scenario, debrief and cheat sheet are built for them, then editable in the editor.
